Hi, I’m Emma.
I understand that you want to give your child the best chance of passing the 11+ exam, but choosing the right preparation option can be confusing. I've been an 11 plus tutor and content writer for over ten years, and I've just put my whole course up online.
Your family’s 11 Plus journey should be effective, straightforward, and affordable.
Let me help make that true for you.
Courses for both GL & CEM exams...
Choose between Durham CEM and GL Assessment courses and make sure your child is studying the exact question types they'll be faced with in the exam.
By signing up for the summer revision course you also get access to everything else the platform has to offer including the main course content, extra worksheets, and online quizzes.
We were immediately impressed by the structure of the course and the fact that the students manage the course themselves - almost teach themselves to learn which is a great asset. The course didn't let us down and provided Arisa with 22 weeks of a variety of study aids, games, online tutoring, videos, etc. This was definitely a very worthwhile, professional course which also cost a lot less than a tutor.
Plenty of varied worksheets covering many different aspects of English, Maths, VR and NVR. We never ran out of material with which we could tempt Sam into doing just a little bit more work. Practising your timing with 50 minute tests is obviously essential, but speedy 10 minute blasts are also good! Useful short video tutorials, well-presented and clear.
Although we didn’t have direct tutoring from FSL, you were always personally supportive when I emailed with a query, providing very sound and useful advice.
All the worksheets made learning really fun but at the same time covering all the areas which needed to be covered.
To access the summer course, just subscribe to FSL 11+ Online for only £18.95 per month.
Stay signed up for as long you want access to the materials and video tutorials. We make it really easy to cancel your subscription when you no longer need it.

Here are the answers to some common questions about the FSL 11+ Online Summer Courses
Your child will be working from a specially designed 25-day timetable of 11+ revision work. The work is spread Mon – Fri over five weeks, but it is able to be completely flexible around your personal summer holiday plans.
Your child is able to download/print the course materials as needed, and they can reprint any materials they want to have another shot at.
Children can also watch/rewatch our video tutorials if they need reminders of any methods.
Finally, your child will also have access to everything else FSL 11+ Online has to offer besides the summer courses. This includes another full set of mock exam papers and hundreds of worksheets covering all 11+ topics.
There are two versions of the course, and you will have access to both courses with a single subscription. Choose between GL Assessment or Durham CEM courses to ensure your child is studying materials tailored the exact style of exam they’ll be taking. If your child will be sitting both GL and CEM exams, you can use materials from both courses at no extra cost.
I recommend that your child completes the summer revision course during their summer holidays, when they have plenty of time in the day to complete the work. There are five full weeks of work (Mon – Fri), so try not to leave it too close to September, as this will avoid the stress of trying to get it finished before back-to-school time. One week of the standard six week holiday (as well as all weekends) is purposefully left free to ensure there’s plenty of time left over for more fun summer-based activities!
Please remember that the timetable included is only a guide; if it works better for your child to complete the course over a shorter or longer time period, there is no problem in doing so. Once you’ve signed up you’ll have continued access to the full course until whenever you unsubscribe, so your child is free to complete the course entirely in their own time according to what works best for your family.
If at all possible, I strongly suggest doing the work first thing in the morning, as this gets it out of the way while your child is feeling fresh, leaving the rest of the day free for them to do whatever they like.
To access the summer courses, all you need to do is sign up to be a member of FSL 11+ Online, which you can do by clicking here.
The summer courses will be loaded onto your FSL 11+ Online profile automatically on the 20th June. If you want to sign up before the course launch date you will also have access to everything else FSL 11+ Online has to offer, including hundreds of worksheets, practice tests, video tutorials, online quizzes and a full set of mock exam papers.
You can also sign up after the 20th June and still have access to the full courses – they won’t be removed from the platform once they are added.
You’re free to cancel your subscription at any time, and can do so by following these instructions:
1. Log in to your profile using your email address/username and password,
2. Click on 'my profile' or on any of the courses,
3. Once you’re on a course page, scroll down until you see ‘manage my account’ at the bottom of the page.
4. Click on ‘manage my account’, then ‘subscriptions’, where you will then see the option to cancel.
If you’re already a member, you don’t have to do anything! Access to the summer courses is automatically included in your membership, and the courses will be available on the platform by the end of the day on the 20th June.
If you can’t see the courses by then, you may just need to refresh your profile page, or try logging out and back in again.
Check the secondary school admissions section of your county council's website to find out which exam board is contracted in your region (if applicable). You should also check the admissions section of the individual schools' websites you hope to apply for. These usually tell you the exam board they use, or (in the case of schools that run their exams independently) a breakdown of the subjects/topics covered by their own exams. They also often have sample papers, so check these out to make sure you know what question types your child should be familiar with.
When you sign up to FSL 11+ Online you'll be given access to all of the courses/materials from both GL and CEM. You don't have to choose before you sign up, and you can use materials from both courses if you'd like to as well.
The ‘Summer Pack’ sold in our website shop is a physical product made up of different work books, sheets and practice tests. If you order this product, a folder will be sent to your address containing all the materials and a suggested timetable.
Please click here for more information on the contents of the Summer Pack.
The online summer revision courses are online only, with all the practice materials available for you to download and print whenever needed (hence the price difference).
While the timetables and elements of the content differs between the Summer Pack and the online courses, other aspects of the content is the same in each. We DO NOT recommend purchasing both products, as you will end up with with a fair amount of duplicate materials.
Both versions of the summer course cover the four main 11+ topics in detail:
English: including comprehension, cloze text (CEM), vocabulary, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
Maths: covering all topics required to the high level expected for the exam.
Verbal Reasoning: including all GL Assessment Verbal Reasoning types (code, maths and vocabulary) and CEM types such as Shuffled Sentences and Odd One Out.
Non-Verbal Reasoning: covering all common NVR question types, including spatial reasoning.
Most days of the course contain around four or five separate exercises. The length of time needed to complete them depends largely on the child, but as a guide this is usually between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours per day.
On days when there are longer practice papers or full mock exams scheduled, more time may be required. Work can be condensed if your child would like more days off, or spread out across more days if they’d prefer to spend less time working per day.
All answers are included for all of the course materials, so you’ll be able to keep track of any weaker areas and make sure that corrections are completed. This is important as it ensures that your child is able to learn from their mistakes and improve in future. They’ll have access to a large number of video tutorials so they can revise any methods they’ve forgotten.
Each of the full mock exams also comes with a detailed score guide so you know where your child sits against the average, as well as tips for improvement in weaker areas.
A subscription to FSL 11+ Online costs £14.95 per month, and access to the summer courses is included in this price.
You can remain a member of the platform for as much or as little time as you like depending on how long you’d like access to the materials.
FSL 11+ Online is by far the most extensive 11+ study platform for the cheapest price. I keep prices low because I truly believe that high quality, tailored 11+ preparation should be accessible to everyone, and that no one should be frozen out of a chance of a place at Grammar school due to financial reasons.
The summer revision course is predominantly designed for use by parents and their children. If you’re a tutor you are more than welcome to use the course with one student but, as I’m sure you’ll understand, it’s not sustainable for me to allow tutoring of multiple students on a single subscription.
If you’d like to use the course materials as a tutor, please visit our tutor page and benefit from multi-licence discounts.
Depending on region, some 11+ exams don't include all four subjects (English, maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning). If this is the case for you, you should still find more than enough content on the platform to keep you covered over the summer.
Simply skip the exercises that aren't relevant, and replace them with materials from the full courses/extra worksheets (included as part of your subscription).
Please feel free to email me (Emma) at firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. I'm more than happy to help with any questions or if you have any technical issues using the site.
